PATYKA, a Mission-driven company

This bold move publicly reaffirms our commitment to societal and environmental responsibility.
PATYKA received the Engagé RSE label awarded by AFNOR, at the 'Confirmed' level.
Renewed in 2023, this label highlights the advanced stage of the company's social and environmental responsibility policy.
PAtYKA became an official member of the UEBT (Union for Ethical BioTrade), which ensures a biodiversity-friendly sourcing of raw materials and fair compensation for all partners.

Engagé RSE Label
In 2021, PATYKA received the Engagé RSE Label, awarded by AFNOR, at the 'Confirmed' level. This distinction was renewed in 2023 and reflects the advanced stage of the company's social and environmental responsibility policy. We continue to strengthen our commitments, integrating social and environmental issues into our development. By engaging our internal teams, we guide and strcture our CSR approach while enhancing its visibility to strengthen its credibility with our partners.

Official Member of UEBT
In 2023, PATYKA became an official member of the UEBT (Union for Ethical BioTrade), which ensures a biodiversity-friendly sourcing of raw materials and fair compensation for all partners.
PATYKA prioritises sourcing ingredients from certified supply chains, such as shea butter and aloe vera, ensuring strict ethical standards and genuine traceability. PATYKA has always supported organic and regenerative agriculture, while collaborating with local and responsible partners.
Finally, the company initiates supply chain audits through UEBT for its iconic ingredients to ensure compliance with UEBT's ethical standards and promote more sustainable practices for both people and nature.

By receiving this B Corp certification, we strengthen our commitment to fully taking responsibility for our impact on society and the planet.
More than just a goal to achieve, this certification marks a new step towards a model of social and environmental responsibility.

What is a mission-driven company ?
It is a new legal status, established under France's PACTE law in May 2019, that allows companies to formally define societal and environmental objectives alongside their economic goals.
In November 2020, after 18 years of commitment, PATYKA became the third cosmetics company to adopt this status. This milestone confirms its founding ambition: to be a company that respects people, both women and men, as well as the planet, while making a positive impact on the world around it.
What does this mean for PATYKA ?
Mélia Roger, CSR Director at PATYKA, explains in details what this new status entails for our company.
Our purpose
Because it is essential to "act sustainably to take care of women and men and protect the environment and biodiversity", PATYKA is committed to safeguarding the beauty and health of living organisms and ecosystems. This commitment is part of our DNA and has been officially enshrined in our articles of association since PATYKA became a Mission-Driven Company.

As part of this mission, PATYKA is committed to:

Since 2002, all PATYKA skincare products have been certified by Ecocert under the COSMOS label. However, we have established our own formulation charter that goes beyond the requirements of the COSMOS label.

Eco-Design
All PATYKA packaging is recyclable and/or made from recycled materials.
• Recyclable: all our bottles, tubes, jars, and boxes are made from recyclable materials. Please help us by sorting the packaging after use.
• Recycled: we incorporate recycled materials (glass or plastic) in our bottles, tubes, and jars to minimise the production of new virgin materials.
• Eco-refill: all our glass jars are now refillable (the refill is 100% recyclable and helps reduce CO2 emissions by 98%).
In 2022: we halved our use of virgin plastic compared to 2020, saving 23.5 tonnes of CO2.

Skincare Made in France
The Maison PATYKA, born in Paris, offers 100% Made in France skincare products.
We collaborate with carefully selected farmers to harvest botanical ingredients of exceptional quality, as well as with the finest artisans and manufacturers in France to create the most desirable fragrances and the most innovative packaging.
To further support the French economy, over 50% of our plant-based active ingredients are sourced in France.

Committed partnerships for biodiversity
PATYKA has planted 20,000 trees since 2019 as part of its reforestation programme. Because forests, as well as hedgerows and rural hedges, are the green lungs of the planet, absorbing CO2 and converting it into oxygen, it is crucial to protect them to slow down global warming.
Through our partnerships, PATYKA contributes to the reforestation of French territory by planting various tree species suited to the local ecosystem and promoting natural regeneration.
PATYKA participates in coral ecosystem restoration alongside Coral Guardian, supports soil regeneration by backing farms practising regenerative organic agriculture, and helps protect rare and endangered plant species through the Conservatoire Botanique National Sud-Atlantique.

Ecological transition
In response to the challenges of climate change, PATYKA has rolled out its 'NATURE' policy, which structures the Maison's ambitions around three main pillars: climate, biodiversity, and plastic usage.

CLIMATE
After conducting a carbon assessment and a Life Cycle Analysis of all our products, the Maison has defined a climate trajectory with a set timeline, which will be regularly reassessed based on the measurement of its environmental footprint. The goal is to reduce the company's carbon emissions by 5% per year by 2030.

BIODIVERSITY
Commitment to biodiversity preservation is essential for the sustainability of its products, its expertise in formulation, and for contributing, on its scale, to the protection of Nature. PATYKA's strategy for biodiversity preservation focuses on three main actions: measuring its biodiversity footprint, creating sustainable sourcing pathways, and supporting biodiversity protection initiatives.

PLASTIC USAGE
Reducing plastic usage, particularly virgin plastic, is at the heart of PATYKA's 'NATURE' strategy for its products. To demonstrate this commitment, PATYKA joined the FEBEA Plastic Act in 2023 with ambitious quantified goals, going beyond the provisions of the AGEC Law (Anti-waste for a Circular Economy):
• REDUCE: 19 tonnes of virgin plastic saved between 2020 and 2023
• REINCORPORATE: 79% recycled plastic in packaging
• REUSE: 100% of glass jars are refillable
• RECYCLE: 100% of packaging is recyclable
