PATYKA, A Mission-driven Company
Creation of the French cosmetics Maison PATYKA and ECOCERT certification of all its products.
PATYKA, from the Greek ‘APOTEKE’ meaning ‘Pharmacy’, becomes one of the world's first organic cosmetics brands. As a pioneer, it offers a unique vision of beauty where effectiveness, sensoriality and ethics go hand in hand.
Uncompromising cosmetics that care for the health and beauty of the skin thanks to high-performance formulas that are highly concentrated in botanical and biotechnological active ingredients, and respectful of the environment and biodiversity.
PATYKA officially becomes a « Mission-driven Company »
It's a new legal status, set out by the PACTE law of May 2019, that allows companies that wish to do so to officially set themselves societal and environmental objectives in addition to their economic objectives.
In November 2020, after 18 years of commitment, PATYKA became the 3rd cosmetics company to adopt this status. It is thus confirming its original ambition: to be a company that respects women, men and the planet, and to have a positive impact on the world around it.
What does this mean for PATYKA ?
Mélia Roger, CSR Director at PATYKA, explains in concrete terms what this new status means for our company.
Our purpose
Because it is essential to « act sustainably in order to take care of women and men and preserve the environment and biodiversity », PATYKA is committed to taking care of the beauty and health of living organisms and ecosystems. This is part of our DNA and is now part of our statutes since PATYKA became a Mission-Driven Company.
As part of this mission, Patyka is committed to:
Since 2002, all Patyka skincare products have been certified by Ecocert under the COSMOS label, but we have defined our own formulation charter which goes beyond the requirements of the COSMOS label.
Made in France
Born in Paris, PATYKA offers skincare products that are 100% Made in France.
We work with hand-picked farmers to harvest botanical active ingredients of exceptional quality, and with the crème de la crème of French craftsmen and manufacturers to develop the most desirable fragrances and the most innovative packaging.
To even further support the French economy, more than 50% of our plant-based ingredients will be sourced in France by 2025.
Eco-design
- Recyclable: all our bottles, tubes, jars and boxes are made from recyclable materials. Help us by recycling your packaging after use.
- Recycled: we include recycled material (glass or plastic) in our bottles, tubes and jars in order to limit the production of new virgin material.
Committed Partnership
PATYKA plants 1 tree every 2 hours. That means that more than 20,000 trees will be planted in France between now and 2025 as part of our reforestation programme.
Because forests are the green lungs of the planet, absorbing CO2 and converting it into oxygen, it's vital that we protect them in order to curb global warming.
Thanks to our partnership with Reforest'Action, PATYKA is helping to reforest France by planting a variety of species adapted to each local ecosystem and by encouraging natural regeneration.
Environmental transition
From now until 2030, we'll be aiming even higher:
Become carbon neutral by reducing and offsetting all our CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions.
We'll be carrying out a carbon assessment in 2021, and then again every 5 years, to assess our progress on a regular basis.
