Patyka is committed to the climate and biodiver...
with its reforestation programme for french forests
Forests are an invaluable natural resource: they play an essential role in regulating the climate, improving the soil and conserving wild animal and plant species.
For several years, PATYKA has been involved in restoring and preserving French forests in partnership with Reforest'Action, a French forestry specialist founded in 2010.
In the Meilleraye Forest in Beaulieu-Sous-Parthenay, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, no fewer than 8 local species, including sessile oak, alder and maritime pine, have been replanted by PATYKA & Reforest'Action.
We have also created a ‘PATYKA Forest’ in the Grand Est region, in Givry-en-Argonne.
The aim is to recreate a genuine forest ecosystem, using local tree species (maple, chestnut, oak, pear, etc.) to encourage the return of biodiversity to the region.
The ecological impact
Forests are complex ecosystems that play a key role in combating climate change.
In the Meilleraye Forest, no fewer than 8 local species, including sessile oak, alder and maritime pine, have been replanted by Patyka & Reforest’action. The diversity of species helps to improve biodiversity and increase the richness of the soil.
• Combat climate change
• Restore biodiversity
• Improve pollination
• Enrich the soil with organic matter
• Decontaminate the soil
• Improve the water retention capacity of the soil and atmosphere
• Reduce the risk of landslides caused by erosion
Our reforestation programme for French forests means that at least 20,000 more trees will be planted between now and 2025, which represents:
• 600 tonnes of C02 stored.
• 12 000 shelters for animals created.
• 1 333 years of oxygen generated.
• 4 000 hours of work created.
Reforest'Action in figures
Since 2010, Reforest'Action has been creating, preserving and restoring forests around the world.
It is a concrete and ambitious response to the two major challenges of the 21st century: the climate emergency and the disappearance of biodiversity.
In just one year, REFOREST'ACTION has planted 5 million trees in 20 countries, including 2 million in France.
The new forest created protects the surrounding areas from natural hazards (wind, floods, landslides) and their trees protect the soil from erosion. Thanks to their roots, rainwater infiltrates and feeds the phreatic table. And the falling leaves provide organic matter to nourish the soil, ensuring that the forest ecosystem functions properly.
