Patyka is committed

to the climate and biodiversity

with its reforestation programme for french forests

The forest is an invaluable natural resource: it plays a crucial role in climate regulation, soil improvement, and the conservation of wildlife, both animal and plant.

Since 2019, PATYKA has been actively involved in the restoration of forest ecosystems as well as hedgerow and meadow ecosystems, in partnership with companies, associations, and independent farmers who follow virtuous practices that respect nature.

Preserving different types of ecosystems helps support biodiversity on a landscape scale.

1 tree planted every 2 hours in France

In the Bois de la Meilleraye, in Beaulieu-Sous-Parthenay, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, no less than 8 local species, including sessile oak, alder, and maritime pine, have been replanted by PATYKA & REFOREST'ACTION.

In parallel, we have created a 'PATYKA Forest’ in the Grand Est region, in Givry-en-Argonne.

The goal: to recreate a true forest ecosystem, using local tree species (maple, chestnut, oak, pear tree...) to encourage the return of biodiversity in this region.

Planting new trees helps to restore a healthy forest capable of generating invaluable ecological benefits.

The ecological impact

The forest is a complex ecosystem that plays a key role in the fight against climate change.

1 tree captures an average of 150kg of CO2, which is the equivalent to a round trip from Paris to Toulouse by petrol car.

Why plant trees and reforest ?

• Fight against climate change

• Restoration of biodiversity

• Improvement of pollination

• Enrichment of soils with organic matter

• Soil decontamination

• Enhancement of the water retention capacity in soils and the atmosphere

• Reduction of landslide risks caused by erosion

PATYKA & tree planting: what are the benefits for the planet?

Our French Forest Restoration Programme will plant at least 20,000 trees by 2025, which represents each year:

600 tonnes of C02 stored.

12 000 shelters for animals created.

1 333 years of oxygen generated.

4 000 hours of work created.

Reforest'Action in figures

Since 2010, Reforest'Action has been creating, preserving and restoring forests worldwide.

It is a concrete and ambitious response to the two major challenges of the 21st century: the climate emergency and the disappearance of biodiversity.

In just one year, Reforest'Action has helped plant 5 million trees across 20 countries, including 2 million in France.

Because forests are essential, let's protect them
Patyka

Forests slow down global warming: they are the largest carbon reservoirs, after the oceans. They produce half of the oxygen on our planet. A mature deciduous tree produces enough oxygen for 2 to 10 people.

Patyka

Forests are home to 80% of the Earth's biodiversity: animals, plants and fungi essential to human survival. The trees planted encourage the development of biodiversity on the plot of land by creating shelters for wildlife.

The newly created forest protects the surrounding areas from natural hazards (winds, floods, landslides). Its trees protect the soil from erosion. Thanks to their roots, rainwater infiltrates and replenishes the phreatic table. And the fallen leaves provide organic matter that nourishes the soil, ensuring the proper functioning of the forest ecosystem.

Patyka

Trees are natural air conditioners. One single tree has a cooling effect similar to that of air conditioners in two average households. The surface temperature in forested areas can be up to 20°C lower than that of buildings or the asphalt of roads.

They are a source of remedies for our health: trees are a reservoir of medicinal plants. Nearly 75% of the most prescribed medicines are formulated from components sourced from the forest.
