In winter, skin can dry out due to cold temperatures and central heating. It can dehydrate quickly. It's important to look after it and take certain precautions throughout the day to help protect it... PATYKA has created a full routine to use for moisturised, protected skin all winter long:

Morning

7:30am - Enjoy an invigorating wakeup with a lukewarm shower. Keep the water tepid to avoid irritating your skin as it can be easily dehydrated by warmth and steam. Drink a large glass of water at room temperature early in the morning to flush out your body.

7:35am - Straight after your shower, apply Almond Blossom Moisturising Body Lotion to your whole body to combat dryness caused by the cold or use Youthful Firming Body Cream containing hyaluronic acid to keep skin moisturised and stimulate collagen production.

8am - Moisturise your face and protect it from thermal shock and damage during the day ahead with carefully targeted products such as Lotus & Cotton Quenching Serum and Sacred Lotus Face Cream, which help reduce skin sensitivity (irritation, redness and dryness).

8:30am - Before you go out in the cold, pull on your gloves and wrap a big scarf round your neck and face as far as your nose because the body parts most exposed to the cold are the face and hands.

10am - It’s time for a large mug of tea! Avoid coffee as it can dehydrate. Don’t forget to hydrate your whole body: the water you drink spreads into the lower then upper layers of the skin.

Afternoon

2pm - Time for another drink! For optimum hydration, you should be drinking at least six to eight glasses of water a day.

Nourish your hands two or three times a day with Crème Absolue Hands & Nails, especially after washing them.

4:30pm - Snack time: choose a vitamin C- and antioxidant-rich fruit like an orange to strengthen the skin barrier!

Evening

8pm - When you get home, gently take off your makeup. Forget cotton, which can irritate skin sensitised by the cold, and instead use oils or gels applied by hand, such as Remarkable Cleansing Oil or Cornflower Water Micellar Gel, to preserve the hydrolipidic film on the skin’s surface.

Exfoliation removes dead skin, boosts cellular renewal and improves the absorption of moisturiser, but don't do too much, especially in winter (no more than two or three times per month)! And don’t forget to properly moisturise your skin after each exfoliation, for example, by using the Intensive Moisturising Mask which you can leave on all night and use as often as you please, unlike an exfoliator!

10pm - Before bed, give your handsa final treat by rubbing in Crème Absolue Hands & Nails. Make sure the temperature in your bedroom is no higher than 21°C for a good night’s sleep and good overnight hydration. Sweet dreams!
